Thematic Working Groups
SAN-PVE is structured around the Thematic Working Groups, which have been identified by the Advisory Board, considering regional needs and priorities.
Each Thematic Working Group counts with the guidance of a leader and deputy leader.
Key functions and tasks to be carried out by Thematic Working Groups include:
- Collection and dissemination of knowledge, expertise and thematic good practices;
- Identification of practitioners;
- Call for papers and ideas;
- Organising meetings of the Thematic Working Groups;
- Organising regional meetings with other stakeholders; and
- Develop a thematic annual working plan.
The Thematic Working Groups draft a thematic annual working plan that includes (for example):
- Online meetings schedule;
- Themes of the meeting and events; or
- Targeted stakeholders and beneficiaries, among others.
The thematic annual working plan will be developed in agreement by the Administrative Office and leaders of the Thematic Working Groups, with the technical assistance of UNODC, and finally approved by the Advisory Board. The thematic annual working plan will include the identification and agreement on host countries of the Administrative Office.
The Thematic Working Groups can vary according to regional priorities.
A specific and cross-cutting gender approach will be adopted by each Thematic Working Group, ensuring that the specific needs and standards applicable to women and girls are met within each working field to prevent and counter violent extremism.
